Job Description
We are looking for an energetic Personal Trainer who can help assist in the operations of the Wellness Department. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This fitness professional interacts with new and existing members to help them achieve their health and wellness goals. This Personal Trainer creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities. Need for evening and weekend trainers. Free family YMCA membership for applicant's household if hired.
Responsibilities
* Assist in operations of the Wellness Department
* Interact with new and existing members to help them achieve health and wellness goals
* Create a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities
* Conduct small group training circuits in our Functional Training Studio
* Lead clients through plyometric, sports agility, and Olympic lifting workouts
* Engage clients in an educational, friendly, and fun atmosphere
* Track training sessions and maintain client documents following HIPAA standards
* Report to the Fitness Director with any questions relating to the Fitness Department.
Requirements
* Available to train from 5 am to 9 am, and/or evenings from 5 pm to 8 pm, as well as available for clients on the weekends
* Able to create a customized plan to help your client reach their needs, teach them proper form and technique, as well as communicate clearly and professionally between client and staff
* Ability to conduct small group training circuits in our Functional Training Studio
* Ability to lead clients through plyometric, sports agility, and Olympic lifting workouts
* Ability to engage clients in an educational, friendly, and fun atmosphere.
* Reports to the Fitness Director
* Physical demands: walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting 45 pounds +.
Qualifications
* Maintaining a current National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited certificate of Personal Training is required.
* Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in Personal Training.
* Specialty certifications encouraged: CPR, First Aid, AED within 60 days of hire date.
* Paid Child Abuse Prevention Courses completed before first day of work.
* Good communication skills with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
