About the role
Sirius Energy SA is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Gas Trader to join our team in Lugano.
This is a unique opportunity to join a company at an exciting stage of its growth journey, where you will work closely with Sirius’ Gas Team to help build and expand our presence across European gas markets.
Joining Sirius at this stage means taking an active role in shaping the desk, originating new business, and directly contributing to the development of our trading activities. You will have a real impact from day one, operating in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
The role offers significant responsibility early on, with strong potential to grow alongside the business as it scales. It is ideally suited to a candidate with 2–5 years of experience who is looking to take ownership, develop trading strategies, and contribute meaningfully to P&L generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute proprietary trading strategies across European gas markets.
- Manage and optimise trading positions within defined risk parameters.
- Actively trade spreads, optimise positions and Gas Asset Portfolio.
- Work closely with stakeholders to implement and build models and tools.
- Play a key role in scaling and expanding the gas trading desk across European markets.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in European gas markets (trading, origination, portfolio management or similar)
- Strong understanding of European gas hubs (e.g., TTF, THE, PSV, CEGH, NBP)
- Strong understanding of physical gas infrastructure (pipelines, storage, capacity)
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and market structure
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
