Job Description
About the Role: We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our treasury team in the world of fresh fruit wholesale and distribution. You will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming payments from retail chains, supermarkets, distributors, and international clients. Working in a high-turnover, perishable-goods environment, your attention to detail and strong communication skills will be critical to maintaining financial accuracy and healthy cash flow. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients across various European and international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor outstanding receivables and ensure timely collection from supermarkets, wholesalers, and export partners
* Communicate proactively with customers regarding overdue balances, payment discrepancies, and account queries
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve issues related to invoices, delivery confirmations, quality claims, or intercompany transactions
* Generate and analyze aging reports and contribute to cash-flow forecasting based on seasonal sales cycles
* Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics teams to align billing with delivery documentation and payment terms
* Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis related to AR activity
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, ideally in the FMCG, wholesale, or agricultural sector
* Familiarity with invoicing and payment systems used in distribution, export, or produce logistics
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/financial systems
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the fresh produce or food distribution industry
* Understanding of commodity pricing, weight-based invoicing, and international trade practices
* Multilingual capabilities (e.g., English, Spanish, French, German) to liaise with international clients and customs offices
