An exciting opportunity exists for a world-class Daily Engineer Officer to join our newly created luxury travel brand. The DEO is responsible for the daily maintenance and operations of the engineering and technical aspects of the vessel, as directed by the Chief Engineer and Staff Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mutually coordinate with the Staff Engineer to be onboard during their absence.
2. Be directly responsible to the Staff Engineer for work performed in the Engine Room, including maintenance and conditions of the main Diesel Engine, Emergency Diesel Engine, pneumatic system, clutch system, main propeller shaft, simplex system, oil report, bilge separator, main fuel system, and bunkering.
3. Control the disposal of refuse, rags, etc., during watch to prevent fire and hazards.
4. Inspect all assigned work in progress and upon completion, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower.
5. Train personnel assigned to the engine watch, especially new personnel, in safe working practices.
Requirements and Skills
* Fluent in oral and written English (working language of the company).
* Proficiency in other major European languages is advantageous.
* Extensive experience in luxury and premium hospitality venues, particularly in dining operations.
* Experience with start-ups or pre-openings is a plus.
* Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Passionate about hospitality and customer service.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Certification and visas as required by STCW 95, along with all necessary documents, must be valid at the time of employment to comply with the ship's Flag State requirements.
