Job Description
Title: Substitute Custodian. Location: To Be Determined.
Employment Type: On-Call / As Needed. Work Days: As Assigned.
FLSA: Non-Exempt. Reports to: Director of Operations / Building Principal.
Salary/Benefits: $15.00 per hour.
Job Summary
The Substitute Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly school environment on an as-needed basis. This position supports daily building operations by performing routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and setup tasks to ensure a positive learning and working environment for students and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Ability to follow directions and work independently
* Ability to perform physical tasks related to custodial duties
* Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
Essential Duties and Specific Responsibilities
* Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting
* Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
* Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste properly
* Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
* Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events and activities
* Assist with minor maintenance tasks as assigned
* Follow established safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals
* Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or building needs to supervisor
* Secure building areas as directed, including locking doors and checking facilities
* Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with staff
* Perform other duties as assigned
