Summary
As a translational medicine expert (TME), you provide medical and scientific expertise and leadership to drive success of early and late global programs, develop strategies for late‑stage development, support translational research, and assess in‑licensing opportunities.
About the Role
This hybrid role can be based in Basel, Switzerland, or London, United Kingdom. As a Dermatology TME, you will report to the Dermatology TM Head, collaborate with other experienced TMEs in Translational Medicine Discovery & Profiling (TMDP), and lead global cross‑functional project teams through the early clinical phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Early clinical projects (Phase I / II, “Discovery”) – develop and implement strategies, lead global project teams, and drive implementation of the development strategy.
* Late‑stage clinical projects (“Profiling”) – act as a key leader in developing Ph2‑3 and post‑approval profiling strategy, support dose selection, study design, oversee execution and interpretation of studies, drive analysis and present results, write TM portions of regulatory documents.
* Translational Research – collaborate with Dermatology TM Head and other functions to develop strategies for indication expansion, identify endpoints for early decision making.
* Business Development & Licensing – participate in BD&L teams as TM representative, license programs, subject matter expert for the disease indication, molecule, and clinical trial experience.
* General responsibilities – clinical monitoring, integrated safety data review, medical and scientific leadership, represent clinical TM aspects to Health Authorities, oversee publication strategy, lead study‑specific teams, ensure operational excellence.
Essential Requirements
* Location: Cambridge, MA; London, UK; Basel, Switzerland – remote not allowed.
* Travel: approximately 7% domestic and/or international.
* Dual posting; level determined by hiring team (Associate Director/Director).
* Doctoral degree, MD required with clinical subspecialty training in dermatological diseases; additional PhD/post‑doctoral equivalent research and relevant Board certification preferred.
* Associate Director Level: 1‑2 years of experience; Director Level: 5+ years of experience.
* Recognized medical expertise, publication record, excellent written and oral communication, independence, innovation, leadership of collaborations, team player mentality.
