Health Aide
School of the Osage, in partnership with our students, families, and community, will equip all learners to meet their maximum potential for a lifetime of success.
Type of Position: Health Aide
Reports to: Building Principal
Degrees required or preferred : High School diploma

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. * Provide surveillance of immunization records and prepare CD 31 report for school district.
* Maintain cumulative health records and perform clerical duties required by health program.
* Provide basic first aid for illness and injury according to written school policy, and if properly trained.
* Perform selected screening programs as outline in Manual for School Health Programs, and as directed by school administrator.
* Perform re-screening and refer based on criteria in appropriate screening manuals.
* Assist in identifying and reporting suspected child abuse and neglect.
* Incorporate health education in encounters with parents, staff and students.
* Contribute to health information presented to special education staffing team.
* Perform nursing care for children with special health care needs as ordered by physician.
* Assumes responsibility for continuing education and contributes to the professional growth of others.
* Participates with others in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating school health and community services that include primary, secondary and tertiary prevention.
* Contributes to nursing and school health through innovations in theory and practice and participation in research.
* Carries out delegated nursing tasks for students and staff

The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel, both in and out of state.
Compensation:
Salary: Commensurate based on experience.
