Overview
The Product Management Team Cable Connectivity has the vision of being a global best-in-class Product-Life-Cycle-Management organization for RF-Components and -Cables. The organization promotes solutions for high-end applications for the market verticals Test & Measurement, Medical, Quantum Computing and communication. As Head Product Management you are responsible for the strategic portfolio management and pushes the organization to develop and promote key products to our target markets. Through outperforming the competition by in-bound and out-bound product-related customer communication and interaction you and your team bring strong value to our customers. In this key position you report directly to the Vice President Cable Connectivity (R+D & Product Management), and being part of the Department Management Team.
Responsibilities
* Lead the global Product Management Team of nine long experienced Product Managers
* Analyze market, customer, and competitor information to identify market characteristics, trends, and opportunities for new products / customer solutions
* Monitor key market drivers such as technological developments and regulatory changes and initiate and steer competitive research, incorporating feedback from Sales and other channels
* Own and maintain the strategic Product Books of the different product portfolios (current state, customer focus, sustainability, roadmaps, and competitor overview) and further develop and implement product and portfolio strategies, including positioning, roadmaps, and product release planning
* Build compelling product propositions, variants and application scenarios for different target markets and segments
* Develop and concrete new product ideas in close, cross-functional collaboration, especially with R&D and the Market Management
* Compile robust business cases, including forecasts and financial analyses to support investment decisions
* Initiate and drive new product developments (Product Owner) by observing and managing the project and product portfolio within the gatekeeper community in line with the business strategy
* Define pricing strategies and tactics and lead IN/OUT licensing approaches
* Track and review product performance, using relevant KPIs, such as revenue, margins, market share, and supply chain performance and further develop todays Product Management Dashboard
* Guiding the global organization through requirements management, product rollout, training, and lifecycle-appropriate supply chain setup
* Support go-to-market, launch, and sales activities through product communication, training, and sales support
Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years of global leadership experience in Product Management in industrial companies is required
* Deep product knowledge of RF (High frequency) components and solid understanding of the competitive market landscape
* Strong practical experience in market and application know-how for High frequency applications (Connectors/Cables), including emerging and potentially disruptive trends and technology drivers
* Proven technical expertise in manufacturing processes and related production technologies
* Advanced knowledge in product design and industrialization (CAD, simulation, modelling, testing) in close cooperation with Process Engineering
* Solid understanding of market- and country-specific compliance requirements, including export control and qualification processes
* Innovation-driven mindset with experience in global coordination of product and technology development initiatives
* Strong project management and leadership capabilities
* Good understanding of the supplier landscape for raw materials, processing technologies and measurement equipment
* Knowledge of sales channels, distribution networks and pricing policies as key levers for market success
* Ability to orchestrate the full marketing mix (product, price, promotion, place) across defined product lines
* Experience in product life cycle management with a strong focus on quality and sustainability
* Excellent communication skills, able to engage and influence diverse, multicultural and cross-functional audiences; English fluent and German minimum B2 level
* Entrepreneurial, resilient and adaptable personality with the ability to manage change, deal with ambiguity and perform effectively under pressure
* Good IT proficiency (Microsoft Office / O365, PDM, ERP systems)
* Willingness to travel (up to 20%)
