Director of Adult Education
The Director will be responsible for overseeing the development and administration of adult education and literacy activities. This includes managing program delivery, performing grant management duties, and developing and implementing developmental education programming to facilitate seamless transitions from adult literacy to workforce skill and/or college level learning.
Responsibilities
* Develop and promote adult education and literacy activities district-wide.
* Coordinate programs in ABE, HSED, ESOL, and Brush-Up.
* Responsible for coordinating IELCE and IET programs for ESL students.
* Supervise instructional personnel, teacher/trainers, and support staff.
* Develop and maintain accurate budgets for federal, state, and private allocations.
* Coordinate HSED graduations.
* Implement state/federal regulations and train staff in processes.
* Research grant opportunities supporting adult education and literacy.
* Collaborate with instructors to collect data and provide information to funders.
* Work with Institutional Effectiveness to assess student success in developmental education courses.
* Coordinate with the college's developmental education program to ensure streamlined services.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; five years' experience in K-12 or post-secondary education. Master's degree preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.

This role involves formulating recommendations, making technical decisions, and supervising others. The ability to communicate complex information and persuade others is critical.
