Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead in a matrix and develop the "civil & structural" area of expertise globally, collaborating closely with internal and external experts across the Diagnostic Engineering Function (DEF), the Pharma division, and our broader site network. Your focus will be to embed a sustainable, innovative, and end‑to‑end lifecycle mindset into everything we do.
* Own the Expertise: Drive the global strategic approach for civil and structural design, conception, and construction across the entire lifecycle
* Head the Global Expert Panel: Head the Global Expert Panel for Civil & Structural, defining its operating model and maintaining a roadmap to nurture and share knowledge company‑wide
* Provide Strategic Guidance: Deliver systematic support, consultancy, and technical leadership across the organization, including solving complex technical issues and conducting project reviews
* Drive Innovation & Sustainability: Develop and implement cutting‑edge, sustainable design practices, aligned with divisional and group sustainability goals
* Stay ahead of Trends: Keep abreast of future industry trends and developments to directly support capital projects, global initiatives, and compliance with building codes
* Build Strategic Alliances: Foster systematic collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Sites Network, and external academic partners
Qualifications
* Education: University‑level education (MSc, equivalent, or higher) in a scientific or technical field
* Experience: Around 10 years of international experience across companies and cultures, including project or matrix leadership experience
* Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively within a matrix organization without direct reporting lines, backed by clear and transparent decision‑making
* Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong critical thinking, well‑developed problem‑solving abilities, a high propensity for self‑reflection, and a passion for continuous improvement
* Languages & Mobility: Professional fluency in English (German is a plus, or a willingness to learn), with the flexibility to undertake occasional international travel
