The opportunity
We are looking for a Business Unit (BU) Transportation & Logistics (T&L) Manager plays a pivotal role in aligning and executing the global TT&L strategy within the business unit. Acting as a strategic liaison between Hitachi Energy’s central TT&L organization and the BU, the manager ensures seamless collaboration with interfacing functions and drives operational excellence across all logistics activities.
As a key change agent, the T&L Manager leads the successful rollout of new projects, tools, and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. They are responsible for implementing best practices that enhance service quality while optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
How you'll make an impact
1. Ensure compliance with global policies, processes, and governance for General Cargo operations not managed by the Transport Trade and Logistics CoE.
2. Monitor KPIs, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational excellence.
3. Act as liaison to the Center of Expertise (CoE) and oversee service performance for CoE-covered operations.
4. Drive awareness and support the rollout of new TT&L tools, processes, and projects through effective change management.
5. Lead and develop teams by ensuring proper staffing, coaching, and succession planning in line with HR policies.
6. Implement TT&L strategy, adapt global processes to local needs, and ensure alignment with business requirements.
7. Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
8. Share best practices and support end-to-end process optimization and standardization across regions.
9. Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives to improve delivery performance, lead times, inventory, and resource utilization using Lean Six Sigma tools.
10. Develop and maintain process maps, provide training, and ensure alignment with interfacing functions and policies
Your background
11. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
12. Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management
13. At least 3 years of proven leadership and people management experience
14. Strong communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills
15. Solid knowledge of customs regulations, legal, and commercial terms
16. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
17. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
18. Willingness to travel up to 25%
