The opportunity
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Project Engineer – Grid Automation Control & Protection to support the successful delivery of grid automation projects across Europe. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project management, fellow engineering teams, and customers to deliver the control and protection scope of complex substation automation projects.
How You'll Make An Impact
Collaborate with the project core team to develop protection and control concepts for (sub-)transmission systems, working closely with customers during the base design phase
Contribute to and coordinate the Protection & Control detailed engineering scope, working in close alignment with other engineering disciplines such as SCADA and Network & Cyber Security
Support the design and/or configuration of protection and control IEDs for (sub-)transmission substations, ensuring solutions meet customer specifications
Participate in and help lead factory testing activities at our test facilities in Baden (Switzerland), including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) carried out in partnership with customers
Your background
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (e.g. Technikerschule), with relevant experience in substation automation systems
Knowledge of substation control and protection systems, including communication standards such as IEC 61850
Experience with Hitachi Energy’s protection and control IED portfolio (Relion family) is an advantage
Open-minded team player with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and efficiency
Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with multiple stakeholders in a project environment
Strong communication skills and the confidence to take technical decisions
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, German language is an advantage
