The logistics manager oversees the flow of goods from procurement, production, or operations to delivery to clients. They ensure the rationalization and optimization of stocks, as well as the reduction of costs and delivery times through monitoring and management tools.
QUALIFICATION
The profession is accessible with a level III or level II training in transport-logistics or management-commerce, conducted by a business, management, or engineering school. It can also be practiced without specific training but with professional experience. Continuing vocational training also provides access.
Fluency in a foreign language, especially English, may be required.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
The work is primarily office-based but requires visits to storage locations and loading/unloading docks. The logistics manager may also need to visit service providers.
Missions:
1. Coordinate the pickup of goods according to production conditions.
2. Manage storage of products and plan the distribution of goods.
3. Ensure effective internal communication within the organization.
4. Select carriers if not predetermined by the end client.
5. Manage transport disputes and determine necessary actions.
