About The RoleThe Data and Analytics organization at EF is responsible for empowering decision makers across the company to generate data-informed outcomes and deliver life-changing travel experiences. We are a collection of data engineers, BI developers, and analysts providing reporting, analysis, and data science capabilities while migrating the underlying infrastructure to a cloud-based lakehouse architecture. We are searching for a Data Analytics Director to lead our Operations BI team and partner with teams responsible for procurement, supplier management, and itinerary development for the tours we produce. You will provide business intelligence solutions which combine market data with first- and third-party sources to enable the efficient operations of massive scale processes. How You Will Contribute
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and internal product managers to identify and anticipate their evolving data needs. Transform these insights into innovative analytics solutions.
Spearhead the strategic planning and delivery of BI initiatives.
Foster the growth of a team of developers who efficiently deliver solutions promoting data quality, adoption of best practices, effective problem resolution, and a culture of business enablement
Accelerate EF’s digital transformation by influencing the roadmaps of data, analytics and software engineering teams
Who You Are
7+ years demonstrated experience in data or analytics engineering, business intelligence, or analytics
At least 3 years of experience in managing teams
Hands-experience in multiple database and distributed processing technologies such as Snowflake, AWS Glue, Spark, dbt, Prefect, Redshift, Athena, PySpark, Azure Analysis Services
Experience working on technology products through the full product lifecycle, from idea to launch to ongoing optimization through data analysis and user feedback
Experience identifying use cases opportunities for Advanced Analytics, building POC’s to prove out value and justify investment.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with and effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
