How You’ll Make An Impact
* Conduct high‑quality industrial research in the areas of Generative AI and Large Language Models for sustainable power grids, green energy and related fields.
* Develop innovative software solutions, turn them into prototypes and increase their technology readiness toward productization.
* Collaborate with a global and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers in Hitachi Energy Research and Business Units to identify and solve real‑world problems and realize opportunities for further improvements.
* Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities and vendors.
* Disseminate your results in technical reports, patent applications, and scientific publications.
Your background
* PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
* Proven expertise in GenAI technologies spanning Large Language Models, reasoning methods, and agentic systems, with strong knowledge of relevant algorithms, frameworks, and tools.
* Expertise in scalable and high‑performance computing.
* Good knowledge of the NVIDIA AI/ML SW technology stack.
* Strong ability and keen interest in applying AI to real‑world industrial applications and business cases related to the energy sector and driving the emerging research in this field toward productization.
* Excellent communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
