Art Basel stages the world's premier art shows for modern and contemporary works, sited in Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong and Paris. Defined by its host city and region, each show is unique, which is reflected in its participating galleries, the artworks on display and the parallel content programming produced in collaboration with the local institutions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized, and driven personality to join our Marketing team as a Copywriter.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the creation and editing of email campaigns for our shows in Basel, Paris and Miami Beach as well as other Art Basel topics and initiatives. While email copywriting remains a central part of the role, you will also contribute to a variety of marketing channels, including digital ads, web content, app notifications, and marketing collateral.
We are looking for a pro-active and creative writer who can think strategically, work collaboratively, and adapt messages across platforms while aligning with our brand voice.
* Write highly effective, engaging copy for emails, digital campaigns, marketing materials and other touchpoints.
* Adapt tone, voice and messaging based on the channel, audience, and business objectives.
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand project goals and craft copy that aligns with both strategic direction and brand identity.
* Help map, design and optimize email journeys and templates using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and our broader marketing tools.
* Use advanced tools including A/B testing platforms and marketing automation systems that amplify the impact of your messaging.
* Manage the copywriting workflow, from briefing through stakeholder reviews, translations management, and final sign-off.
* Maintain a consistent tone of voice by creating and evolving style guide and content documentation.
* Juggle multiple copy projects at once, mapping shifting priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs with confidence and clarity.
* Process improvement: identify and implement improvements to copy creation workflow.
Your profile
* Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with a proven ability to produce high quality content across channels.
* 5+ years of experience writing B2B or B2C marketing copy in English, ideally in the art, luxury or hospitality industries.
* Solid understanding of email copywriting best practices, customer journeys, and performance-driven messaging.
* Strong grasp of business goals and the ability to translate them into compelling communication strategies.
* Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email tools (Mailchimp, Sendinblue, etc…),
* Strong project management skills: you can prioritize conflicting deadlines and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
* Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills: you are comfortable educating and influencing non-digital stakeholders to reach the best content outcome.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and always looking to grow your craft and impact.
* Proficiency in French or German is a plus.
