Your Purpose
MSC Cruises is seeking a Senior Commercial & Asset Finance Counsel to join the Corporate Legal Department at its Head Office in Geneva, Switzerland.
This role is designed for an English-qualified lawyer with strong law-firm training, ideally gained at an international firm specialising in maritime, cruise, aviation or asset-backed finance, who can operate autonomously in a highly technical, fast-paced and international environment.
The successful candidate will bring deep familiarity with English law-governed transactions, complex contractual structures and cross-border asset operations, with particular relevance to the cruise and maritime sector. You will join a collaborative and growing legal team in Geneva, working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, procurement, operations and external counterparties worldwide.
Your Impact In this role, you will act as a trusted senior legal advisor on complex, high-value commercial and asset-related matters, working both independently and alongside other members of the Corporate Legal team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex English law-governed contracts, including but not limited to: Asset-related commercial agreements connected to cruise, maritime and aviation operations Charter arrangements, operating and finance leases, sale and leaseback documentation Supplier, concession, sponsorship, licensing and collaboration agreements Framework agreements, NDAs, MOUs and bespoke commercial arrangements. Providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders, with particular sensitivity to risk allocation in asset-heavy, regulated and cross-border environments Supporting transactions and projects involving international lenders, shipyards, operators, technical managers and third-party advisors Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulatory frameworks and internal governance requirements across multiple j
