We are expanding our current facilities around the globe and require professionals to support this growth. We are seeking a Cost Manager with relevant experience to support the Global Engineering Capital Projects for international facilities and infrastructure. This position will be directly responsible for cost management, overseeing costs, and reporting throughout various project stages.
The Cost Manager will:
* Have a broad understanding of multiple business aspects of a project, including technical knowledge of the scope and content.
* Understand roles in Estimating, Planning, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, and Project Leadership.
* Develop and maintain interfaces with the project team, stakeholders, partners, SMEs, and advisors for effective cost management.
* Coordinate with the Estimating Team during the estimating development process.
* Ensure that cost control processes are followed in accordance with company procedures, reporting to the Project Control Manager.
* Implement and operate core cost management responsibilities, supporting Budget Owners.
* Collaborate with Planning and Engineering Teams to identify deviations early.
Responsibilities:
* Support development of Project Cost Estimates and transition to Control Budget.
* Identify project interfaces and establish protocols for their management.
* Provide accurate, timely cost reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
* Ensure contractors and engineering partners follow proper methodologies and tools.
* Establish processes to support cost management requirements.
* Maintain comprehensive cost reporting, including budgets, commitments, work assessments, accruals, and forecasts.
* Assist project leadership in resource management and forecasting overruns or savings.
* Provide estimates and reports on Estimated at Completion (EAC).
* Support change, risk, and opportunity management related to costs.
* Manage contingency drawdowns per guidelines.
* Support project close-out activities, including asset activation and benchmarking.
* Provide oversight and support to other cost engineers as needed.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
* Proficient in English; Business German (B2 level) is advantageous.
* 10+ years of experience as a Cost Manager in large pharmaceutical projects (>250 Mio CHF), preferably in EPCm organizations and as a client representative in pharma companies.
* Ability to interpret and communicate cost data effectively to senior management.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba, and Oracle Primavera Unifier is desirable.
* Experience working in a global environment and with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning contracts.
* Strong analytical skills to handle large data sets and support decision-making.
* Able to adapt to shifting priorities and manage ambiguity.
* Capable of prioritizing and executing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
