For beam diagnostic instruments in the CERNSPS, it is essential to evaluate RF powers and voltages of the signals induced by the beam. Following analytical estimates, the candidate will build models for electromagnetic simulations and simulate these to characterize these structures. The simulations will be benchmarked by measurements in the laboratory and with beam.
Your responsibilities
* CST simulations.
* ANSYS simulations.
Your profile
* Experience with CST simulation or other electromagnetic field simulator.
* Understanding of high frequency electronics.
Skills
* Must be able to read a mechanical drawing and convert it to a 3D model.
* Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
* You have a professional background in Electronics engineering / Applied physics (or a related field) and have either:
o aMaster's degree with 2 to 6 yearsof post-graduation professional experience;
o or aPhD with no more than 3 yearsof post-graduation professional experience.
* You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
