Hardware Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of electronics for our IoT loggers, gateways, and sensor modules. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection.
Responsibilities include:
* Designing and developing hardware solutions for IoT applications
* Collaborating with firmware engineers on driver development, peripheral integration, and bootloaders
* Integrating wireless modules (BLE, LTE-M, LoRa, Wi-Fi) and validating RF performance and antenna placement
* Guiding hardware documentation, manufacturing test strategies, and lifecycle management
* Continuously improving products through hardware revisions and firmware optimisations
The successful candidate will possess:
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
* 3+ years of experience designing and validating embedded hardware (IoT, wearables, medical, etc.)
* Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and design tools (Altium, KiCad, Mentor)
* Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and board bring-up
* Solid understanding of wireless standards (BLE, LTE-M, LoRa, Wi-Fi) and RF integration
* Experience with ultra-low-power design principles
* Strong grasp of design for manufacturing (DFM) and collaboration with industrialisation teams
* Familiarity with PCB fabrication and preparation of complete manufacturing packages
