Background
The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) is an independent civil society organization, headquartered in Geneva Switzerland, with offices in Austria, South Africa, Colombia and Malta, and a globally dispersed Secretariat working in around 40 countries. GI-TOC comprises a network of more than 750 independent global and regional experts working on human rights, democracy, governance and development issues where organized crime has become increasingly pertinent. GI-TOC provides a platform to promote greater debate and innovative approaches as the building blocks to an inclusive global strategy against organized crime. GI-TOC commissions and shares research globally, curates a robust resource library of 2 000 reports and tools specific to organized crime and uses its convening power to unite both the private and public sectors against organized crime.
We are seeking a skilled video editor to work across outputs for the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime and its YouTube channel: Organized Crime Dispatch.
This role is primarily focused on editing, with occasional light production support as needed. You will be responsible for turning raw footage into clear, engaging, and high-quality video content across short-form and longer formats.
The Role
You will work with pre-recorded interviews, scripts, and briefs to deliver high-quality edits. Outputs will include short-form content for social platforms, video-podcasts, interview cuts, and longer-form explainer videos for YouTube.
Main Responsibilities
* Short-form vertical videos (20-90 seconds) for social platforms
* Video podcasts and interview-based content
* Long-form explainer video
* Work from scripts and recorded interviews to shape clear, engaging narratives
* Turn around edits efficiently while maintaining quality
* Include motion graphics / animation (animated maps, etc.)
* Support with finding suitable footage
* Manage your workflow to avoid last-minute bottlenecks
Requisite skills and experience
* Fast, reliable editor who can work to deadlines
* Can create clear, effective motion graphics
* Individual who works independently and confidently from structured briefs
* Fluent in English. Additional languages are a benefit
