Position Overview


The Senior Director, Marketing International is responsible for leading the strategic vision and execution of downstream marketing initiatives for Exact Sciences’ international portfolio, including the MCED (Multi-Cancer Early Detection) and Oncotype DX product lines. This role drives global brand awareness, customer engagement, and commercial success across all markets outside the United States. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Senior Director leads a high-performing marketing team and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business objectives, scientific integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties

1. Develop and Execute Global Marketing Strategy
Lead the development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies for MCED and Oncotype DX, including brand positioning, segmentation, omnichannel campaigns, and annual commercial plans.
2. Drive Customer and Digital Engagement
Oversee multi-channel engagement initiatives targeting healthcare professionals (HCPs), health systems, patients, and advocacy groups to increase awareness and adoption of diagnostic solutions.
3. Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration
Ensure strategic alignment with internal stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Commercial Excellence, and Product Lifecycle Management to support cohesive execution.
4. Support Sales Enablement and Field Execution
Partner with sales teams to develop promotional materials and ensure field activities align with brand strategy and drive revenue growth.
5. Oversee Market Research and Analytics
Lead market research initiatives and performance tracking to inform strategy, optimize campaigns, and measure ROI across key tactics and geographies.
6. Manage Agency and Partner Relationships
Direct external agencies and media partners in the development and execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance.
7. Shape Industry Perception and Thought Leadership
Represent the company at global conferences and industry events, fostering relationships with key opinion leaders and promoting the value of precision oncology and early cancer detection.
8. Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams
Build, coach, and inspire a diverse international marketing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development.
9. Ensure Compliance and Ethical Marketing Practices
Uphold regulatory, legal, and ethical standards in all marketing activities, ensuring adherence to company policies and international guidelines.
10. Manage Global Operations and Travel
Operate effectively across global time zones and geographies, with up to 50% travel required to support international teams, partners, and events.

Minimum Qualifications

11. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or other relevant field.
12. 15+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in an oncology field
13. 10+ years leading marketing teams directly or indirectly and contributing at the leadership level.
14. Experience of Direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing activities preferably in a healthcare setting.
15. Demonstrated communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
16. Demonstrated engagement and collaboration experience with the ability to lead and inspire teams through influence and partnership.
17. Demonstrated experience in effectively translating data and insights into strategy and design direction with a deep understanding and empathy for customers.
18. Demonstrated experience owning the development and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics.
19. Demonstrated experience in key marketing and marketing effectiveness metrics implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
20. Demonstrated understanding of the competitive landscape with the experience of translating new innovative ideas into successful commercial and patient outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

21. Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
22. Experience in Healthcare, Biotech and/or Pharma.
23. Experience with reimbursement and health plan products.

Working Conditions/ Schedule

24. The place of work is the office in Zug.
25. It is required to work across global time zones with global teams.
26. This position will require travel of up to 50% of working time away from work location. It may include overnight/weekend travel.
