Roche Diagnostics International AG in Rotkreuz is looking for a Lab Assistant to support its BGE Sensors & Reagents team, focusing on in‑vitro diagnostics instrumentation.
Background
The BGE Sensors & Reagents team develops, characterises, and optimises electrochemical sensors and reagents for medical devices, especially for blood gas, electrolyte, and metabolite measurements in whole blood. The team manages the full lifecycle of calibrators, controls, and internal solutions for BGE instruments and works cross‑functionally with R&D, operations, and quality control.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Lot Production & Execution: Plan, prepare, and produce R&D BGE lab lots, handling reagent batches.
* Testing & Analysis: Perform rigorous testing of formulations and raw materials to ensure consistency and performance.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain precise documentation of experiments and lab lots and communicate progress to project and line managers.
* Laboratory Management: Support daily lab operations, including inventory management for consumables and maintenance of laboratory infrastructure.
* Process Improvement: Assist in establishing new raw materials and refining methods for manufacturing, testing, and packaging.
* Presentation: Prepare and present technical data and test designs to the wider R&D team.
Requirements
* Apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician in Chemistry or a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Chemistry or related field).
* Strong foundation in inorganic and/or organic chemistry and practical skills in solution preparation.
* Experience in analysing chemicals and complex solutions (e.g., calibrator solutions) using analytical balances and pipettes.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken).
* Excellent communication skills and ability to network across R&D, Operations, and Quality Control teams.
Nice to haves
* At least three years of professional experience as a Lab Technician in a regulated environment.
* Proficiency in German.
