You’ll play an essential role in protecting some of the world’s largest commercial and industrial properties. From evaluating new opportunities and assessing fire and natural catastrophe risks, to drive our company’s profitability and your will directly influence our success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review insurance submissions/policy and supporting documents to assess eligibility and risk factors such as fire, explosions, and natural catastrophes - while using cutting-edge tools and technologies
2. Analyze underwriting data, including loss history, financials, and market trends, to prepare informed recommendations on policy acceptance or rejection
3. Calculate competitive premiums by turning risk assessments into tailored client offers in line with company guidelines
4. Collaborate with stakeholders including brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather insights and clarify policy details
5. Support senior underwriters on complex, high-impact tasks across the underwriting process
6. Take ownership of projects that provide end-to-end exposure to the underwriting value chain, including portfolio steering
Why this role mattersProperty facultative underwriting is at the core of Swiss Re’s reinsurance solutions and directly contributes to its commercial success. You’ll engage with clients on their largest property risks while connecting internally with colleagues across front- and back-office teams. Working in a highly international environment, you’ll interact with clients across European markets and gain global exposure.

P&C Reinsurance is Swiss Re's largest Business Unit, spanning four exciting lines of business: Property, Casualty, Specialty, and Facultative. As part of our Graduate Programme, you'll join the Global Facultative Market Unit. About You
We're looking for curious, motivated individuals with strong analytical abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. You're someone who thrives in collaborative environments while maintaining the confidence to work independently when needed. Your eagerness to learn and contribute will be key to your success in this role.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements
7. A successfully completed university degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) — preferably in Economics, Engineering, Science, or equivalent work experience
8. Genuine interest and motivation to build a career in Property, Casualty, or Specialty Reinsurance
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and maintain high attention to detail
10. Clear and confident communicator, comfortable engaging with clients, brokers, and senior colleagues
11. A team player with a positive, collaborative mindset, who can also work independently when needed
12. Curious and innovative, eager to take initiative, learn quickly, and take ownership of tasks
13. Excited by the opportunity to work in a truly international and multicultural environment
14. Excellent oral and written English; additional languages are a plus (especially French, Spanish, or Italian)
15. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Copilot)
The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.
