About the Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the Food & Beverage department, the Seasonal Chef de Rang is responsible for providing professional and attentive service to guests in the restaurant. They ensure smooth service operations, support the service team, and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Duties
Professional advice and customer care for our guests.
Professional serving of food and drinks.
Excellent product and sales knowledge.
Ensuring smooth work processes at your own station, while complying with our quality standards.
Preparing the required Mise en Place.
Supporting the restaurant management in their daily tasks.
Booking all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting.
Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events.
Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines.
Requirements
A completed vocational training in the upscale hotel industry or gastronomy. Ideally 2-3 years of professional experience in a comparable position.
Good IT skills; knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be an advantage.
Communicative skills – guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback.
High level of commitment as well as a structured, results‑oriented and independent way of working.
High quality awareness.
Engaging communication and expression skills, open‑mindedness and teamwork skills.
Flexibility and resilience – your position includes weekend and holiday shifts.
Excellent manners and well‑groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma.
Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage.
