Sustainability Strategy Trainee (6 Months) – Sustainability Strategy And Transformation

As a Sustainability Strategy Trainee you will contribute to solving complex business and sustainability challenges and work on key strategic issues of our clients. Bring your bold perspective into action in a collaborative team, and develop transformative strategies on all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
* Work across industries such as Life Sciences and Healthcare, Industrial and Consumer Goods, Public Sector, and Financial Services.
* Engage across the entire sustainability journey and value chain, e.g., modelling climate‑risk impact on corporate growth plans, reviewing product portfolios for future readiness, analysing data for product and corporate carbon footprints, measuring circularity, developing end‑of‑life product strategies, optimizing sourcing strategies, infusing sustainability into digitalisation, performing ESG due diligence, and accelerating corporate sustainability impact through AI.
* Collaborate with experienced international Deloitte professionals and high‑profile clients in flexible, agile teams.
* Address sustainability and business problems analytically, deliver actionable strategic recommendations, and harness analytics, automation, and AI to enhance project delivery and future‑proof organisations.
Qualifications
* Incisive thinker who can structure complex problems with concepts, analysis, and frameworks.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret key drivers of business and sustainability performance, develop strategic narratives, and maintain attention to detail.
* Entrepreneurial, innovation‑driven mindset with a collaborative, enthusiastic, ‘can‑do’ attitude.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, professional presence.
* Fluency in English; German strongly preferred; French a plus.
* Robust Excel and PowerPoint skills; hands‑on experience with AI tools and prompting.
* Challenging internships or early professional experience in strategy consulting or industry roles with high sustainability relevance.
* Master’s degree with excellent academic achievements from a leading university or business school (e.g., in Science, Engineering, or Business).
