The global GIS and Remote Sensing team at IMPACT plays a critical role in achieving the organisation’s research and analysis objectives by enabling the production of timely, nuanced, evidence-based insights that can inform emergency response, resource allocation decisions, and long-term resilience planning in complex humanitarian settings. Working in close collaboration with research and analysis teams across the field and in HQ, the team ensures the collection, processing, and analysis of relevant satellite imagery and geo-spatial data to monitor crisis-affected areas, assess needs, map population movements, and identify vulnerabilities among affected populations. Under the supervision of the GIS & Remote Sensing Specialist, the Senior GIS Officer will be responsible for producing global analysis products and providing technical support to global and country teams for programme implementation. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in GIS, experience with geospatial data research and analysis, and a good understanding of cartographic design and spatial analysis presentation using static and interactive maps.
CORE TASKS
TECHNICAL GUIDANCE AND CAPACITY SHARING
Provide technical support for research and analysis programmes, including developing GIS tools, guidelines, and learning materials to promote quality standards.
Guide teams on planning and design in line with project objectives and GIS guidelines.
Assist in drafting and reviewing research ToRs, focusing on analysis and data management plans and geospatial methodologies.
Support the production and review of analysis and mapping products.
Ensure proper storage and management of geospatial data according to industry standards.
GLOBAL RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
Produce global geo-spatial analysis and mapping products aligned with IMPACT’s standards and priorities.
PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT
Support the implementation of IMPACT’s global GIS & Remote Sensing Strategy, including developing technical resources, supporting in-country deployments, and engaging externally as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree or higher in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, or Environmental sciences.
At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in geo-spatial analysis.
Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Spanish is an asset.

Monthly gross salary between 5’300 CHF and 5’430 CHF (before taxes), including a 489 CHF contribution to medical insurance.
