Legal Counsel IP and Technology-related Contracts
The Legal Counsel IP and Technology-related Contracts is responsible for managing and safeguarding Datwyler’s intellectual property (IP) across a wide range of commercial, R&D and technology-driven activities. This role provides end-to-end contract support, ensures compliance with applicable legal frameworks, and enables strategic business partnerships through well-structured agreements and risk-informed decision-making.
Your Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end legal reviews of complex IP, supply, R&D, and technology agreements from initial draft to final execution.
Protect corporate intellectual property during commercial transactions, ensuring full legal compliance and alignment with business goals.
Drive the implementation and optimization of legal-tech tools, including automated NDA workflows and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
Structure, draft, and negotiate high-value licensing agreements, joint ventures, and strategic innovation partnerships.
Conduct structured risk assessments across contracts and projects, proposing proactive mitigation strategies to minimize company liability.
Provide strategic legal counsel to internal stakeholders, translating emerging regulatory and compliance trends into actionable business advice.
Advise on general commercial law matters, with a specific focus on industrial tooling, co-development, and purchasing contracts.
Support legal governance frameworks by collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, procurement, and executive leadership teams.
Your Profile
Law degree (LL.M. or equivalent preferred).
2-3 years proven experience in IP law, contract management, and commercial agreements.
Strong understanding of licensing, R&D collaborations, and technology contracts.
Experience with CLM systems and legal tech tools is an advantage.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Highly structured and organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Fluent English and German skills are required (both C2).
