Sales Director role at I&W Engineering AG
Job Title: Sales Director – Electric Direct Drives
Location: Jona, Switzerland (with frequent travel to U.S. and European markets)
Your Mission: We’re looking for a hands-on, strategic Sales Leader to scale our presence in the electric direct drive market. As Sales Director, you will lead and build our commercial activities across the U.S. and Europe – from shaping the go-to-market strategy to closing high-impact deals. You’ll work directly with the founding team and play a key role in the next growth phase of our technology company.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Market Development
Define and execute our sales strategy across priority segments and regions
Identify and qualify new business opportunities in industrial, off-highway, robotics, and related sectors
Position our electric direct drive solutions as a competitive and future-ready technology
Analyse market trends, competitor offerings, and customer demands to refine our approach
2. Sales Leadership & Execution
Take full ownership of sales targets and pipeline development
Build strong, trust-based relationships with OEMs, integrators, and distribution partners
Actively drive key deals and strategic accounts from first contact to contract signing
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
3. Team Building & Structure
Define the structure and future growth of the sales team
Recruit, mentor, and lead new sales colleagues as the organization grows
Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and marketing to align efforts and deliver customer value
4. Startup Impact & Operational Ownership
Work with the Founder and management team to align business objectives with sales performance
Take initiative beyond the job description – shape tools, processes, and systems for scalable growth
What You Bring:
Strong track record in international B2B sales, ideally in electric drives, powertrains, automation, or related fields
Experience leading strategic accounts and driving complex technical sales processes
Entrepreneurial spirit: you thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and want to build something lasting
A strategic thinker who executes with discipline, persistence, and ownership
Engineering background or deep technical affinity is a strong advantage
Fluent in English; German and/or additional languages are a plus
Willingness to travel across Europe and the U.S. as needed
