The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) and the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) are inviting applications for a position of:
Physician, Head of Neonatology Service (NAT)
with a Full Professor title
at the Woman-Mother-Child Department (DFME)
Starting date: August 2025 or to be agreed.
Main missions:
Direct, organize and ensure the development of all highly specialized medical activities in a university neonatology Service.
Ensure and reinforce the expertise and quality of the Service's clinical missions/operations, while developing multidisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborations and synergies in line with the CHUV's strategic plan.
Federate, conduct and develop high-level clinical and academic research, financed by expert external funding and published in high-quality scientific journals.
Ensure and guarantee the missions of pre-graduate (according to FBM needs), post-graduate (ISFM training center cat. A1) and continuing education, in the field of the discipline, by being the official person in charge of the discipline.
Guarantee high-quality junior medical and scientific staff, to consolidate the influence of the clinical and academic field both internally and externally, and to collaborate with hospitals in the Federation of Vaud Hospitals (FHV) and neighboring cantons.
Desired profile:
Federal medical degree (or equivalent), MD or MD-PhD.
ISFM specialist title (or equivalent) in pediatrics, with in-depth training in neonatology.
Extensive clinical experience in neonatology at tertiary level.
Proven managerial skills in leading and managing a large/multisite team and extensive project management experience.
Professorial-level academic knowledge and expertise with proven practice in pre- and post-graduate teaching.
Ability to set up clinical research programs that can be supported by expert external funding.
Good knowledge of French (LM or minimum B2, C1 ideal) or ability to acquire it rapidly.
