As part of this expansion, the company is building out its global supply chain leadership to drive best-in-class planning, procurement, and strategic supply chain initiatives.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain with a strong background in strategic planning, supply chain optimization, and procurement leadership to support the company’s growth across Europe and the U.S. Based in Switzerland, this role will oversee supply chain planning and procurement functions globally, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational excellence.
This is a senior, cross-functional role ideal for a strategic thinker with extensive pharmaceutical supply chain experience, capable of managing complex international supply networks.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and execution of global supply chain strategies, focusing on demand planning, supply continuity, and cost optimization across Europe and the U.S.
* Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management for raw materials, APIs, FDFs, and services
* Collaborate with regional teams to implement robust demand forecasting and S&OP processes, ensuring alignment of supply with market needs and production capabilities
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory levels globally
* Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring quality, compliance, and risk mitigation
* Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to support new product launches, market expansions, and supply chain risk management
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including EU GDP, U.S. FDA requirements, and international trade regulations
* Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence
* Utilize data analytics and supply chain technologies to improve visibility, decision-making, and responsiveness across the network
Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management, with significant exposure to planning, strategy, and procurement at a global or regional level
* Demonstrated expertise in managing complex international supply chains across Europe and North America
* Strong track record of driving S&OP, demand planning, supplier negotiation, and strategic procurement initiatives
* Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks including EU GDP and U.S. FDA supply chain compliance
* Experience working in or with global contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs/CDMOs) and logistics partners
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage remote, multi-cultural teams
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred
* Fluent in English; proficiency in German or French is a plus
