Your Role
As a Senior System Engineer, you will report to the team leader of the System Team in the Platform department. You will play a key technical role in the implementation, evolution, and operational stability of Microsoft-based infrastructure platforms, both internally and for our clients.
You will act as a technical reference within the team, contributing to system design decisions, operational best practices, and continuous improvement of our services. In this role you combine strong hands‑on expertise with the ability to anticipate issues, standardise solutions, and collaborate effectively with engineers, architects and customers.
In the team you will oversee:
Implement, maintain and evolve Microsoft-based environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, WSUS, SQL Server, IIS, etc.)
Administer and optimise virtualised environments (VMware ESXi, vCenter; VM lifecycle management)
Design and optimise system architectures to ensure performance, scalability and security
Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify and resolve potential issues
Provide 2nd‑level and advanced support, handling complex incidents and root‑cause analysis
Automate operations using tools like PowerShell, Puppet, Rundeck and Terraform
Manage the lifecycle of Microsoft systems, ensuring they remain stable, secure and up to date
Share knowledge and contribute to technical standards, documentation and team best practices

Your expertise covers some or all of the following:
Windows Server and Microsoft ecosystem (AD, GPO, IIS, SQL Server, WSUS, RDS, DFS)
Virtualisation (VMware vSphere, proxmox)
Backup solutions (Veeam)
Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, proxy, load balancers)
Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python)
Monitoring tools (CheckMK or similar)
Infrastructure as Code / configuration management (Terraform, Puppet)
Additional strengths:
Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
Experience with Linux administration (Debian, RHEL)
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to document and share knowledge
Customer‑oriented mindset with good communication skills
The position is based in Lausanne or Geneva. Excellent written and spoken French and English are required; proficiency in German is an asset.
