RHS Job Title: Kitchen Sanitation Worker
Location: International Center (may also perform duties at STEM, Holden Hall and Holmes Hall)
Purpose: To clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, kitchen and serving equipment, and related work areas by utilizing and operating appropriate equipment.
Responsibilities
* Scrape, wash, dry, and store cooking and serving items such as dishes, glassware, silverware, trays, pots, pans, and utensils.
* Clean and sanitize counters, tables, drawers, sinks, and equipment such as ranges, tables, ovens, and refrigerators.
* Operate, clean, and sanitize equipment such as dish machines, pot and pan washers, silver burnishers, garbage disposals, and various conveyors.
* Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors of kitchen and related work areas.
* Load and transport soiled and clean items such as dishes, glassware, silverware, trays, pots, pans, and utensils.
* Empty waste baskets, trash cans, boxes, and containers, cleaning and sanitizing according to prescribed standards.
* Check water temperature and soap concentrations, adjusting as necessary to maintain sanitation standards.
* Perform periodic cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen and serving areas such as walls, ceilings, doors, windows, shelves, and the lower part of sinks.
* Perform related duties as assigned including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
* Assist supervisor in instructing assigned support employees in work methods and processes.
* Assist supervisor in maintaining food and supply inventories.
* Assist with the preparation of food items.
Starting Pay: $20.08/hr
All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency conditions, you will be expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If you have an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of your normally scheduled work hours remotely, you may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community. Required Qualifications
* Casual knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and methods is necessary.
* Willingness to work a flexible shift is necessary.
* Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required.

Monday-Thursday 11am-7:30pm; Friday 10am-6:30pm. Weekends Off.
