The Head of Communications at Leica Microsystems is a business leader responsible for driving brand preference and business impact for LMS and Danaher through strategic communications.
The role reports to the VP of Life Sciences Communications and can be located at Leica Microsystems sites in Switzerland, UK, or Austria.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and integrated external and internal communications planning for LMS.
- Serve as a business partner to the LMS President and leadership team, providing senior communications counsel.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive integrated communications strategy to drive brand preference, scientific leadership, and associate engagement.
- Implement leadership communications strategy for the LMS President, supporting thought leadership and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead change communications strategy and execution for LMS change initiatives, including advocacy and leader coaching.
- Provide rapid response capabilities for LMS level issues, manage risk, and protect brand equity through crisis protocols.
- Establish metrics linked to business outcomes to measure impact of communications initiatives.
- Lead and inspire a high‑performing communications team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Empower the team to leverage advanced communication technologies, including AI.
Essential Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive communications, marketing, or related experience, preferably in diagnostics, life sciences, or healthcare.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience with ability to coach leaders and manage execution through others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven success in executive thought leadership, corporate communications, and associate engagement.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to influence stakeholders through authoritative, authentic behavior.
- Robust business acumen with strong financial and commercial understanding to translate priorities into strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data and insights to measure impact and optimize strategies.
