Overview
Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern is looking for a Restaurant Manager to join our team in the Food & Beverage department. This role oversees daily restaurant operations, leads the service team, maintains high standards and achieves targets. The Restaurant Manager reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all operational and administrative aspects of the outlet as appropriate and prioritize engagement based on business volumes and related parameters.
* Enforce and monitor that all operational standards, as per policies, SOPs and quality measures, are in place at all times.
* Plan menus, prices and promotional events in collaboration with the Chef de Cuisine to maximise revenue opportunities.
* Provide leadership, direction and support to all colleagues at all times.
* Train, evaluate and schedule all colleagues in accordance with applicable standards and business requirements.
* Observe and forecast business needs to plan manpower, equipment and supplies efficiently.
* Encourage proactive inter-departmental communication within and beyond the F&B division to promote teamwork and enthusiasm.
* Offer personal guest care and handling of guest feedback and complaints with high service standards.
* Initiate new guest service strategies and sales opportunities.
* Take on projects and other administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
* Completed vocational training in upscale hotel or catering industry; ideally 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills; ability to lead a multi-cultural team with sensitivity and discipline.
* Expressiveness, openness and team spirit.
* Written and verbal communication skills; guests will approach you with complaints and positive feedback.
* High quality awareness and a sense for current trends.
* Good IT skills and knowledge of various cash register systems.
* Excellent manners, well-groomed appearance, and positive charisma.
* Resilience and flexibility; the position includes weekend and holiday shifts.
* Very good knowledge of German and English; additional languages are advantageous.
