Job Description:
Partner with global leaders within Corning and the respective functional and business unit leadership teams to define, develop, and execute the supply management sustainability strategy.
Establish and monitor program goals, success metrics, and implementation roadmaps to advance the sustainability strategy.
Implement and monitor recognized standards and KPIs, using the information to continually identify areas of improvement.
Monitor and analyze external trends, including emerging legislation, advocacy trends, and the competitor landscape for insights to inform ongoing strategy development and to maintain a best-in-class position.
Oversee supplier compliance with social and environmental requirements.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding Corning's sustainability performance.
Monitor program schedules, costs, and deliverables.
Identify and proactively work to resolve any risks or failures to make progress toward achieving goals.
Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel as required.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40+ hours per week.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree; MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred.
Required Experience: 15+ years, including 5+ years in sustainability.
Required Skills:
Strong business experience (15+ years), including sustainability leadership, program management, and supply chain expertise.
Deep knowledge of sustainability, government advocacy, and key market trends.
Strategic thinker and thought leader with innovation and intellectual curiosity.
Results-oriented with experience managing complex programs.
Strong executive presence and ability to work effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and manage resources across multiple teams.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of developing clear and compelling executive-level content.
Ability to serve as a strategic and execution partner, assessing and challenging input as needed.
Desired Skills:
Ability to work in ambiguous environments.
Understanding of basic financial computations (e.g., ROI, Payback, etc.).
Change management training or experience.
