Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Sampler / Microbiology Analyst with strong life‑science expertise and high IT affinity to join our Quality Control Microbiology team in Schönenwerd.
This hybrid position combines utility and environmental sampling with microbiological laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with GMP, regulatory standards, and internal quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Sampling Responsibilities
1. Conduct GMP‑compliant sampling of:Utilities: purified water, WFI, compressed air, gases, clean steamEnvironmental monitoring: viable & non‑viable air, surfaces, personnelIn‑process materials and intermediates (excluding raw materials)
2. Execute aseptic sampling procedures and uphold contamination‑control standards.
3. Accurately record all sampling activities using our LIMS systems, and digital batch records.
4. Coordinate sampling schedules, including time‑critical activities.
Microbiology Responsibilities
5. Perform routine microbiological analyses, such as:Bioburden / TAMC & TYMCUtility testing: bioburden, endotoxin, TOC, conductivityEnvironmental monitoring plate reading & trend evaluationEndotoxin testing (e.g., LAL)Basic microbial identification (gram stain, colony morphology)
6. Prepare media, reagents, and test materials according to SOPs.
7. Maintain laboratory hygiene, equipment checks, and documentation.
8. Support deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and process improvements.
Work Schedule
9. This role includes occasional or scheduled weekend work as part of a rotation to support time‑critical sampling and microbiological testing.
10. Flexibility and reliability for weekend assignments are required.
Qualifications
Qualifications
11. Bachelor or Master degree in Life Sciences, such as Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent.
12. Experience in microbiology, environmental monitoring, utility sampling, or GMP laboratory work is an advantage.
13. Solid understanding of microbiology, aseptic techniques, and GMP principles.
Enhanced IT Affinity
We are looking for candidates who bring strong digital skills:
14. Very good understanding of IT and Office applications
15. High proficiency with digital laboratory systems (e.g. LIMS).
16. Confident use of electronic data capture, structured workflows, and digital documentation.
17. Understanding of data integrity (ALCOA+), audit trails, and electronic GMP systems.
18. Ability to navigate multiple platforms and contribute to digitalization initiatives.
Additional Skills
19. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity mindset.
20. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
21. Flexibility to work in cleanrooms, laboratories, and operational areas.
22. High customer and service orientation
23. Very good German and good English skills
24. Knowledge of French is an advantage
25. Drivers Licence B
