IPX Engineer Signalling at our HQ in Bern
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated engineer to provide exceptional customer support in the area of IPX services. You will work alongside industry-leading experts and have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Comfone. In this IPX Engineer position within the signalling domain, your responsibilities will include:
1. Operate, maintain, and develop the IPX signalling services and systems of Comfone.
2. Implement and manage signalling links, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to Comfone customers and peers.
3. Enhance Comfone's IPX signalling network to ensure reliable performance and scalability.
4. Proactively monitor the IPX signalling network and manage its capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues.
5. Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently.
6. Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties.
Your ideal profile
* University degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or a comparable field with a solid understanding of Mobile Networks and protocols.
* Experience operating STP, DRA, PGW, and HSS, as well as VAS platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
* Deep knowledge of Mobile Network protocols and technologies, including SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP, DNS, signalling routing, and roaming.
* Proficiency in Wireshark, tcpdump, and other industry-standard tracing/monitoring tools.
* At least 5 years of professional experience in operating mobile networks or IPX.
* Knowledge of 5G SA mobile network standards is a plus.
* Ability to script in Python, Linux shell, and SQL; Linux system knowledge is a plus.
* Dynamic, communicative, customer-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality, reliable service.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
* Willing to work in Bern, Switzerland.
