Reporting to the Senior Director of Risk Management, the Insurance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s risk management strategy by overseeing insurance policy administration, claims management, financial analysis, and compliance. This position is designed to enhance operational efficiency, accelerate claims recovery, and enable strategic risk governance.

Key activities
* Policy Administration:
o Manage insurance policy renewals, endorsements, and documentation.
o Track coverage adequacy and ensure timely renewals.
* Claims Management:
o Oversee claims intake, investigation, and resolution.
o Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, adjustors, brokers, and legal counsel to expedite recovery and minimize loss.
* Analyze insurance-related expenses.
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
* Support premium negotiations to control costs.
* Utilize data analytics to identify risk trends.
* Optimize insurance programs.
* Compliance Support:
o Prepare for audits.
o Maintain regulatory documentation.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
* Enhance current insurance products and processes.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
* Contract & Documentation Management:
o Review third-party contracts for insurance-related provisions and coordinate with legal, business development, construction, and procurement teams.
* Serve as a point of contact for insurers, brokers, and internal business units.
* Support communication and collaboration across departments.
Required training and experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
* 5 + years of experience in insurance management, claims administration, accounting, finance, or risk analysis (preferred).
* Experience working with brokers, adjusters, and legal counsel.
Skills sought
* Bilingual (French/English), both written and spoken – essential for communication with English-speaking colleagues, clients, and suppliers across provinces and internationally.
* Strong analytical and financial skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of insurance regulations, compliance, accounting, and audit processes.
