Cargo Reporting Controller
We are searching for an experienced Cargo Reporting Controller at our MSC Geneva facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As a Cargo Reporting Controller, you will play a key role indriving the monthly financial reporting and performance review processes for Shipping activities. In close collaboration with the Cargo Reporting Manager, you will ensure the timely, accurate, and insightful production of management reporting.
You will coordinate with Regional Accounting Controllers, Business Controllers, Cost Controllers, and Group Reporting teams to deliver high-quality financial information, strengthen performance analysis, and ensure alignment with Group reporting standards.
The role requires strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and performance analysis, with proven experience and solid knowledge of IFRS standards. You are comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment and able to translate complex financial data into clear and structured insights.
Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Lead the monthly Cargo financial reporting process in collaboration with the Cargo Reporting Manager and Regional Accounting controllers, ensuring timely and accurate production of Shipping management reports across Business Control, Cost Control, and Group Reporting teams.
- Perform quarterly balance sheet reviews, identify process weaknesses, analyze root causes and financial impacts, and drive corrective action plans with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver clear, consistent, and insightful narratives on monthly Shipping financial performance, highlighting key drivers.
- Conduct analysis to support the enhancement of documentation related to accounting policies, procedures, and controls, working closely with the Cargo Controlling Manager.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement, standardization, and harmonization of group performance analysis to strengthen management reporting process.
- Actively contribute to the Budget, Forecast, and Cash Flow planning processes for Shipping activities, providing analytical support and performance challenge.
- Act as a key financial business partner to Shipping stakeholders, challenging assumptions and supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Manage multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in Finance / Accounting / Controlling / Audit.
2. Accounting qualification is highly desirable (CPA, ACCA, CFA...).
3. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Big 4 (Audit, Transaction Services) or similar position in other international groups.
4. Proactive with the ability to identify issues before they develop into problems; proactively resolving issues directly or through escalation to appropriate teams.
5. High attention to detail and quality.
6. Good communication to ensure proper presentation of group financial information.
7. Hands-on however organized and structured.
8. Ability to take decisions to ensure proper solutions get delivered.
9. Profound knowledge in both IFRS and Swiss accounting according to Swiss Code of Obligation
10. Strong team spirit and proven ability to work in and with multi-site teams.
