Based close to Zurich, my client is a world-class group working in the renewables and energy sector.
My client is global, dynamic, and acquisitive. As a result of recent acquisitions, we are retained to assist in the appointment of a Consolidation Controller.
This is an office-based role but with the opportunity for international travel including the Caribbean!

Responsibilities:
1. Participation and input into preparation of Annual- and Interim Financial Consolidation Reports in compliance with IFRS.
2. Ensure application of latest IFRS accounting standards.
3. Evaluate accounting implications of specific transactions (reorganization, acquisition, mergers, etc.).
4. Work closely with subsidiary finance teams to collect and validate financial data for consolidation purposes.
5. Liaison to the Swiss accounting teams to address key topics and ensure compliance of statutory accounts.
6. Ensure appropriate internal control systems.
7. Coordination with tax, treasury, and budgeting functions.
8. Enhancement of the group accounting manual and ensure that it is regularly updated.
9. Perform variance analyses and provide explanations for significant movements in consolidated financial results.
10. Assist in providing documentation and explanations during audits.

Minimum Requirements:
1. 3 to 5 years’ experience of Financial Controller role in an international business and/or audit firm, including financial consolidation work.
2. Experience with Swiss GAAP and requirements under Swiss Law.
3. Ideally, experience with Cognos controller consolidation tool (or similar tool).
4. Internal audit experience can also be beneficial.
5. Knowledge of IFRS.
6. Qualified chartered accountant or similar academic background with strong understanding of consolidation principles.
7. Team player.
8. Fluent in English and German, written and verbal.
9. Responsible, ability to multi-task, analytical.
10. Attention to detail and data presentation.
11. Ability to be flexible when working with short or tight deadlines.
12. Can work with minimal supervision.
13. Mobility requirements (time spent travelling internationally, nationally, etc.): International travel from time to time.
