Director of Commercial Operations

Position Overview

The Director of Commercial Operations leads franchise owners in all aspects of commercial project bidding, training, and execution. This role focuses on developing strategies, ensuring accurate cost estimation, and implementing best practices through the Commercial Playbook. The Director also oversees blueprint analysis, manages bid documentation, and fosters vendor partnerships to streamline operations. With strong leadership and expertise in commercial construction, this position empowers owners to achieve project success efficiently and effectively.


Key Accountabilities


Commercial Bid Strategy

* Work with owners to identify and source commercial bid opportunities.
* Guide owners through the commercial bid submission process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.
* Strategize with owners on bid assessment, including insurance ramifications and bid bonding.


Training And Support

* Train owners on contract negotiations and managing all phases of a commercial project.
* Provide support during project implementation to solve challenges related to scope, labor, or finances.
* Ensure owners are fully equipped to manage the commercial bid process effectively.


Cost Estimation And Analysis

* Oversee Blueprint Analysts in reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation for accurate estimates.
* Calculate project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Deliver detailed cost estimates to project teams and clarify calculations when needed.


Bid And Documentation Management

* Ensure all bid documents are completed accurately and submitted by required deadlines.
* Own and manage the implementation of the Commercial Playbook for owners.


Vendor And Tool Utilization

* Collaborate with the Director of Field Operations to create and maintain vendor partnerships.
* Leverage commercial bidding tools, including WinBidPro, Bluebeam, and Construct Connect, for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
* Other duties may be assigned.


Requirements

* Minimum of five (5) or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Strong knowledge of insulation materials, techniques, and industry best practices.
* Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. In-field troubleshooting and independent decision-making for successful outcomes.
* Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule for glass installation projects.
* Collaborative approach for continued teamwork.
* Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
* Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in the construction industry.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.


Physical Requirements

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
* Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
* Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
* Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
* Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
* Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
* Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.


Salary

$100,000-$110,000
