Senior Data Governance & Metadata Consultant (Contract) About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Governance & Metadata Consultant to support enterprise data governance and metadata management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Curate and maintain business, technical, and operational metadata (catalogs, glossaries, lineage)
Coordinate with data stewards to ensure accurate ownership, tagging, and descriptions
Map data lineage across systems and platforms
Support compliance with data privacy and security policies
Deliver workshops, documentation, and training to drive catalog adoption
Track governance, usage, and data quality metrics
Required Profile
7+ years’ experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Engineering
Hands‑on experience with enterprise data catalogs (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Alex Solutions)
Strong SQL and experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Athena)
Experience with metadata schemas, taxonomies, and automation (Python/APIs)
Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills
Nice to have: Public sector experience and project management skills.
