You will lead a highly motivated team of 11–15 employees working in a two-shift operation, responsible for chemical processes and our brand-new Sequencing Lab. Your expertise will be crucial for the seamless transition from R&D to production, collaborating closely and strategically (approx. 20%) with MSAT and R&D teams to bring the latest diagnostic systems to market readiness.### The Opportunity* **Visionary Team Leadership:** Lead, coach, and develop a team of 11–15 specialists in accordance with Roche Leadership Commitments, fostering talent and ensuring continuous professional development.* **Operational Commissioning:** Lead the exciting commissioning of the new sequencing lab, taking responsibility for the necessary qualification and validation support.* **Strategic Planning:** Translate the overarching Sensors & Cartridges Networks Strategy into clear departmental goals, ensuring capacity planning and long-term business continuity through effective recruiting.* **Performance Excellence:** Drive Shopfloor Management based on data to maximize transparency and utilize KPIs like Right-First-Time (RFT) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) for continuous process optimization.* **Cross-functional Interface:** Act as the central representative of the lab to departments such as Supply Chain, R&D, and MSAT to ensure optimal order coordination and planning.* **Quality & Compliance:** Ensure strict adherence to all internal and external requirements (GMP, GSP, mQMS), including correct documentation and the design of the departmental training matrix.* **Budget & Strategy:** Contribute to the S&C Manufacturing Rotkreuz Leadership Team by optimizing manufacturing costs, achieving savings targets, and shaping department-wide improvements.### Who You Are* **Educational Background:** Higher natural science education (BSc, MSc, PhD), ideally as a Chemist, Biochemist, Process Engineer, or Materials Scientist.* **Leadership Experience:** Proven experience in employee leadership with an empathetic style and a genuine passion for coaching and empowering a diverse team in a production environment.* **Technical Expertise:** Profound experience with GMP in a highly regulated environment, combined with a strong interest in data-based decision-making and Shopfloor Management.* **Analytical & Social Skills:** Strong analytical thinking for complex systemic contexts, excellent communication skills, and high self-reflection with a willingness to continuously learn.* **Language Proficiency:** Very good command of both written and spoken German and English to effectively represent the department’s interests.### Who we areA healthier future drives us to innovate.
