Company Overview
As part of Leonardo, Kopter develops the AW09, a next-generation single-engine helicopter offering the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, with increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 meets the latest safety standards and provides enhanced performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter aims to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator for new technologies, including hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. The team of 320 talented members is mainly based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
Your Responsibilities
1. Determine the actual characteristics of the helicopter, often to verify predicted behavior based on computed and/or wind tunnel test data.
2. Prepare and support helicopter ground and flight tests.
3. Advise aircrew on the safe and efficient use of the helicopter and systems.
4. Plan, execute, and report on flight trials efficiently, ensuring high safety standards, achieving technical objectives, and minimizing time and costs.
5. Prepare flight test orders, test plans, analyze flight test data, and publish reports.
6. Provide advice and support to the Design Office's engineering disciplines.
7. Manage helicopter configuration daily and coordinate with the maintenance team.
8. Monitor safety-critical parameters to enhance overall flight safety.
9. Act as Telemetry Controller when required.
Qualifications
* Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Graduate of the FTE long course from a recognized TP school or hold a national FTE license.
* Over 500 hours of Cat 1 & Cat 2 helicopter Flight Test experience.
* Hold an EASA Class 2 medical certificate.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting helicopter flight trials.
* Private pilot’s license is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Flight Test Requirements (CS27 & CS29).
* Proficient in English (B2 level).
