About the Role
Experis is currently recruiting a Software Developer for a 6-month assignment with one of our clients in the energy trading sector. You'll join an agile and technical IT Trading Team working on a real-time data platform supporting 24/7 trading operations.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the energy transition by building software solutions that process large volumes of streaming market data in real time.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a trading data and execution platform
* Build and optimize data loaders for external and internal data sources
* Implement solutions in a cloud-based (AWS) environment
* Maintain codebase and address IT security and technical debt issues
* Provide Level 3 support and coordinate with support teams
Your Profile
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Minimum 3 years of experience in software development
* Strong Java skills with experience in microservices architecture
* Solid knowledge of SQL and basic database admin tasks
* Exposure to Kafka or other data streaming technologies
* Proficient with Spring Boot framework
* Familiar with Unix/Linux command line, Git, and bash scripting
* Basic Python knowledge or quick adaptability to new languages
* Interest in cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and IT security
Nice to Have
* Experience with time-series databases
* Interest in statistics and data analysis
* Knowledge or curiosity about energy or financial trading
* Enthusiasm for building scalable, high-throughput systems
