An important international private bank is looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities
1. Promote a strong compliance culture and risk awareness across the organization.
2. Ensure adherence to Swiss and international banking regulations, proactively identifying, assessing, and resolving compliance and AML risks.
3. Review account openings and KYC documentation for individuals, corporates, and financial intermediaries.
4. Monitor transactions, including higher-risk and sanctions-related activities, and conduct AML investigations (including SARs to MROS).
5. Perform periodic reviews of client relationships (PEP, higher-risk, low-risk) and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
6. Act as a compliance partner to the business, providing timely and practical advice and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
7. University degree, preferably in Law, Banking, or Business Administration; CAS in Compliance is an asset.
8. 5–10 years of experience in Compliance, Banking, Audit, or Risk functions within a Swiss banking environment.
9. Strong knowledge of Swiss banking regulations (AML, CDB, FinSA, FinIA).
10. Analytical, independent, and highly accurate working style, with the ability to manage pressure and priorities.
11. Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with Front Office teams.
12. Fluent in French and English; Arabic is a plus.
13. Excellent IT skills; experience with Avaloq is an advantage.
