We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Director, Refinish EMEA to join us at our facility in Basel or Wellingborough.
The Supply Chain Director, Refinish EMEA reports to the VP of Operations for the Refinish business unit and it is heavily focused on execution and delivery. This is a critical leadership position that requires strong leadership and an ability to partner with leaders in the Refinish business unit, in the Supply Chain organization and at the manufacturing sites. This role will also be matrixed to the Global Supply Chain team through the VP Supply Chain.
The qualified candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic who must excel at both day-to-day tactical execution as well as long-term strategic planning. This individual must be motivated by a competitive industry and be an expert at fulfilling customer requirements and maximizing cost productivity. Excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as deep, relevant experience across multiple functions/facets of a best-in class manufacturing organization(s), will be critical to success in this role.
Key responsibilities
Operations Leadership Execution:
The Director, Supply Chain Refinish EMEA will be responsible for:
1. Serving as the senior Supply Chain leader for the EMEA region within the Refinish Operations network, directly partnering with the manufacturing and commercial leaders to develop and implement strategies for strong execution at the BU level while managing risk;
2. Leading the SC organization within the Refinish EMEA network and investing in training and development for a team of planners, schedulers and other functional roles while serving as a point of escalation and resource for coaching and support;
3. Utilizing your knowledge and expertise to deploy supply chain strategies and actions that address capacity issues and foster a strong partnership with the production teams in support of business goals
4. Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) strategy execution and operational direction in alignment with Business Unit and company goals;
5. Routinely Interacts with senior leadership and others concerning matters of significance to the organization
6. Supports business execution of new programs and initiatives that include forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns;
7. Monitors key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to ensure strong execution;
8. Stay apprised of all operational realities and conditions within the region that impact the flow of material and product and convert those data points to potential impacts on the business side and partner with the business leaders to make necessary decisions;
9. Support and be engaged in IBP process for the region/business, lead relevant supply review in the IBP meetings;
10. Optimize performance of current supply chains including using lean methodologies to improve supply chain lead time;
11. Be accountable for improving Cost of Goods throughout the life cycle;
12. Own and manage the product business continuity plans for your brands and ensure a constant state of readiness to ensure product supply;
13. Direct, manage and represent multi-region supply issue resolution to a successful conclusion, including demand allocation
14. Participation in the global supply chain network to ensure process compliance, best practice sharing and continuous improvement.
People and Talent Management
15. Provide strong leadership to the Supply Chain team in Refinish and help drive execution and build capabilities around these areas;
16. Lead employees using performance management processes and tools to engage and encourage employee contribution including goal setting, ongoing feedback, and annual performance reviews;
17. Engage team in career development planning and support growth and development to support functional talent management, including identification and development of a pipeline of future manager talent;
18. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among the team members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed;
19. Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
Required Qualifications
20. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field; advanced degree preferred
21. Certification in APICS or equivalent preferred
22. 10 - 15 Years of progressive experience in supply chain or related roles in a manufacturing environment
23. 5+ Years of experience leading managers of people
Desired Qualifications
24. Extensive experience being independently proficient in supply chain management, lean supply chains, and data integrity role.
25. Demonstrated mastery of supply strategy development, influencing, collaboration, enterprise thinking, relationship management, financial acumen, product costing, and business case development experience.
26. A comprehensive understanding of product development, manufacturing, and supply management and how other functions contribute to achieving the Supply Chain objectives of the business.
27. Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and influencing and communicating to senior levels of the organization
28. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
29. Strong financial and analytical skills; must be able to develop and implement a strategy to maximize productivity and profitability
30. Demonstrated experience in gathering and reporting business data and key performance indicators to senior level leadership teams
31. Strong bias for action and keen sense of urgency
32. Demonstrated ability to take calculated and intelligent risks using creative/innovative thinking
