We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our dynamic technology team supporting Market Pricing and Volatility Management within Global Markets. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, mission‑critical systems used across FX Options, FX Rates, Structured Products, and Derivatives businesses. Working closely with traders, quantitative analysts, business analysts, and other IT teams, you will contribute to delivering scalable, resilient, and low‑latency solutions that power real‑time pricing, risk analysis, and trading decisions. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and cutting‑edge technology in a fast‑paced front‑office environment.
YOUR CHALLENGE
* Develop, enhance, and maintain core services and applications in Java, focusing on performance and reliability
* Lead the design and implementation of new features and integrations to meet evolving business needs in capital markets
* Continuously improve existing software through refactoring, optimisation, and modernisation initiatives
* Provide third‑line application support, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure rapid resolution of critical incidents
* Participate in on‑call rotation to support live systems outside regular hours
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, including traders, quants, and sales, to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions
* Support user training and documentation efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new functionality
* Champion best practices in coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence
YOUR PROFILE
* Strong Financial Domain Expertise: In-depth understanding of financial products, particularly FX Options and FX Rates, along with solid knowledge of banking systems including Core Banking, Trading Platforms, Market Data, and Pricing Engines, as well as their interdependencies
* Extensive Technical Development Experience: 5+ years' hands‑on software development in Java, including 2+ years on Java 11 or later; prior experience with C++, Visual C++, Qt, or related frameworks is advantageous
* Proven Background in Banking & Trading Applications: 5+ years of experience developing mission‑critical systems in capital markets or front‑office environments
* Microservices & Modern DevOps Practices: Practical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling such as Jenkins and Octopus; familiarity with scripting, deployment automation, certificate management, and operational resilience practices
* Messaging and Data Technologies: Hands‑on experience with messaging middleware such as IBM MQ or ActiveMQ; proficient in data formats including JSON and Apache Thrift; strong understanding of financial market data feeds and real‑time processing
* Full-Cycle Software Engineering Excellence: Proficient in Core Java, Spring Framework, JMS, JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Oracle DB, and Maven; experienced in test‑driven development using JUnit and Mockito, with a strong focus on code quality and peer review processes
* Agile Delivery & Collaboration Skills: Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments using Jira and Confluence; comfortable with collaborative practices such as pair or mob programming, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and iterative solution design
* Solution Architecture & Operational Awareness: Ability to lead technical designs, incorporate non‑functional requirements, and address scalability, security, observability (e.g., Grafana), capacity management, and system lifecycle activities. Must be structured, focused, and able to adapt quickly in fast‑paced environments with changing priorities
* Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; good written and spoken German skills are desirable
