About the Role:
Develops, researches and identifies prospective talent providing a pipeline of qualified candidates. Acts as a strategic partner to hiring managers for job opening requirements. Defines, refines, executes and communicates search strategies. Acts as an expert in assigned regions, line of businesses, functions and technologies. Screens resumes and applications and may interview applicants. Analyzes industry and geographical trends in talent. Determines appropriate recruiting sources for advertising and posting positions. Negotiates and/or supports hiring manager in developing new hire compensation package/offers.
Your Contributions:
1. Works closely with hiring managers to understand business needs and to define unique search parameters; provide market insights and talent analytics that support or guide unique recruitment strategies
2. Strategically identifies talent-rich recruitment grounds and tactically builds pipelines of top talent
3. Works with leaders to identify critical skills and roles and builds pipeline for future needs
4. Closely manages applicant flow end-to-end including applicant review, pre-screen/interviewing and offer evaluation
5. Ensures recruitment efforts are conducted in a manner that is unbiased and compliant with all policies and legislation, in addition to following best practices for applicant tracking, interviewing and hiring
6. Grows existing network, fosters new relationships and attends networking events to further identify talent for the organization
7. Provides weekly and ad hoc updates to Talent Acquisition team, hiring managers and business partners as needed
8. Participates in the selection of outside search partners, where necessary
9. Partners with HRBPs, the compensation team and hiring managers to make recommendations on job offers, get necessary approvals and facilitate making the offer to candidates
10. Maintains a level of literacy about the organization, including its financial position, its culture, and its competition
11. Partners effectively with HR specialist groups including Talent Development, HRBPs and HR Ops (compensation, benefits, HCM, other)
12. Delivers HR support and guidance on a variety of HR projects. Works in coordination with the HRBPs, Workday HCM, and the Talent Management teams
13. Leads day-to-day activities, programs and projects for key HR Operations functions including, but not limited to: Contingent Workers, relocation, onboarding/offboarding and immigration
14. Resolves complicated employee and manager questions regarding policies, procedures and programs. Responds effectively to various questions regarding HR-related projects and systems
15. May assist with employee relations issues and/or reasonable accommodations as needed
16. Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in legal risk assessment as well as the application of employment law in most HR business situations
17. Strong understanding and practical application of labor regulations and policies and ability to apply based on situation
Requirements:
1. BS/BA degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience, training, or certifications and 6+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 4+ years of related experience. Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry preferred
2. Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is essential. French would be a plus
3. Proficient with and works to improve tools and processes within functional area
4. Developing reputation inside and outside the company as it relates to area of expertise
5. Ability to work as part of a team; may train lower levels
6. Exhibits leadership skill and ability, typically leads lower levels and/or indirect teams.
7. Excellent computer skills, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
8. Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills.
9. Detail oriented yet can see broader picture for department, impact on multiple departments/divisions.
10. Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
11. Excellent project management skills.
12. Proven track record of finding unique ways to source and attract qualified candidates
13. Experience delivering full cycle recruitment services
14. Experience working and negotiating with outside search partners
15. Expertise using social media and search tools such as LinkedIn; Experience using ATS systems required
16. Superior selection skills and a high level of proficiency in assessing individuals
17. Persuading, influencing, negotiating and consultation skills
18. Stakeholder management and relationship building skills at all levels, as well as internally and externally
19. High business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with leaders across the organization
20. Results-driven with an ability to demonstrate/quantify success relative to established targets and metrics
21. Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in legal risk assessment as well as the application of employment law in most HR business situations
22. Strong understanding and practical application of labor regulations and policies and ability to apply based on situation
23. Ability to deal effectively and confidentially with employees at all levels within a diverse workforce regarding HR related topics
24. Understands application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards, especially in areas of responsibility
25. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
26. Ability to coach employees, teams and mid-level management through complex, difficult and emotional issues
27. Adaptability and capability to understand changing business objectives and needs of assigned clients to provide effective solutions through organizational effectiveness
28. Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues based in other time-zones, including occasional late afternoon meetings
29. This role is based a minimum of 4 days on-site in our Basel office.
